#9 Premutos: The Fallen Angel (1997)

German Horror-Comedy from 1997. That cant be good.
Premutos is the first of the fallen Angels, even before Lucifer. His Goal is to rule the world, the living and the dead. His son paves the way for him and appears arbitrarily throughout human history and is then recognized as some kind of monster. In the present time, a young man living in Germany begins to suffer from visionary flashbacks–of the lives he lived in the past as Premutos’ son. He remembers how he appeared in the Middle Ages when mankind suffered from pestilence, and during WWII in Russia. On his (earthly) father’s birthday, a case containing a strange old book and a yellow potion is found in their garden, which was hidden by some peasant in 1943, who experimented with witchery in order to re-animate his deceased wife. Whe the young man gets in touch with the book and some of the yellow potion, he mutates into a monster and awakens an army of zombies, ready to bring back the fallen Angel Premutos and to disturb the little birthday party. – IMDB
I’m not going to try and explain it. It starts with a narrator over the intro credits explaining who Premutos is? Or something. And the very first scene is a persons head getting cut off with one large spurt of blood. A fantastic few scenes as a skelleton rises from the ground and starts to form back into a living human.
More convoluted narration. They really drag out every scene, it is extremely slow going, despite the cool gore effects. And thats the best part, the gore effects. They are awesome, and happen pretty steadily through the whole film. And more convoluted narration
It is slow as hell. The comedy isn’t funny. It’s some how also boring? But the gore effects are fucking great. Some real stand out insane scenes. 3 stars for the effects alone.
